"Photographing
is the secret to stay young. Travelling and photographing are for me
a physical need…"
There
are Leonard Freed’s words, the most right for me to define
photography; a part of my body, the expression of my soul and my
thinking. Photographing is not a job…photographing is living,
speaking to all the human being, transmitting emotions.
I
begun to handle a photo camera when I was 15, following my father’s
passion, who immortalized everything that was in front of his eyes,
better in front of his lens. My first photos were simply a
reality’s reproductions, without technique, without meaning:
“free” photos. And so practice has been my teacher for a long
time; no course, no school… only many photos, many clicks, many
attempts.
As
time passed by and as I started to watch at the pictures of big
artists, the wish to improve myself and to create something new,
something different, something personal was born in me.
The
support and the incitement of some of my friends let me think
positively about my ability as a photographer, and they pressed me
towards a world as fascinating and generous as tough and complex
like photography’s world.
I
thanks all those helped me, and are still doing it, to understand I
had to fulfil my “dream”, starting it, changing photography in a
story to be told…
